Mary Hope began her Yogic journey in 2004 when she attended her first Astanga class. She realized the power of Yoga from this experience. She continued studying Astanga Yoga with Jim Andersen at Yoga is Youthfulness for some time until she met Ben Thomas, at Foothill College. There she studied Iyengar Yoga with Ben Thomas for several years. During those years with Ben, Mary discovered her inspiration to teach and realized nearly anyone could benefit from Yoga. Her journey led her to Avalon Art and Yoga in Palo Alto, where she studied with many highly regarded teachers–Shastri, John Berg, Kelly McGonigal, Samantha Shakti-Brown, Darren Rhodes, Max Strom, and Scott Blossom.
Her inspiration to teach Yoga grew and, in 2008, she signed up for Avalon’s Teacher Training program. She mentored with John Berg and also worked heavily with Shastri to continue her Vinyasa Yogic education.
Mary is incredibly passionate about Yoga.
She is deeply inspired to bring Yoga to anyone who is open to transforming their life and to teach them the joy that Yoga can bring to one’s life. Mary’s desire is for her clients to experience the freedom that can arise when one achieves the mind-body-breath connection.
Namaste.
