Dr. Rafael Lopez

Dr. Rafael A. Lopez, D.C., an upper cervical specific chiropractor, is a San Jose native and graduate of Bellarmine College Preparatory, San Jose State University (SJSU) and Life Chiropractic College West. His Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from SJSU provided him the opportunity to specialize in environmental regulatory compliance for various industries of high hazard technology, manufacturing and pharmaceutical. His core values of community service, environmental consciousness, social responsibility and the desire to make a positive impact in the world helped clarify and focus his interest to become health care provider.

During his career transition, he became a Certified Massage Therapist from the Body Therapy Center in Palo Alto. This fueled his new found interest and passion for the study of the human anatomy and physiology that led him to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. He completed intensive training with the Kale ChiropracTIC Institute and has furthered his education in post-graduate, advanced training with some of the most world renowned upper cervical specific chiropractors.

Having attended five separate volunteer chiropractic mission trips between El Salvador and Nicaragua, Dr. Rafael has cared for thousands of patients with “that Extra Something” chiropractic adjustment. His patient care is dedicated to helping people achieve a full expression of health by identifying and correcting the cause of interferences within the central nervous system, at the level of the brain stem.

Dr. Rafael LopezIn addition to providing specialized chiropractic care at Chiropractic from the Heart, he applies his knowledge of the human anatomy and physiology as an Ergonomic Consultant for an environmental, health, safety and sustainability consulting company. The applied science of ergonomic principles is becoming commonplace in our work environments. It is becoming increasingly evident that our repetitive biomechanical work activities, if done improperly, can contribute to chronic injuries and impede the natural healing process by contributing to the stress on a person’s nervous system. His experience in both fields provides a deepened understanding and level of care for his chiropractic patients.

In his personal time, Dr. Rafael enjoys hiking, biking, cooking, exploring the Bay Area, spending time with his wife, Angela, and dogs, Jester and Sasha, the good company of friends and family and serving quality health care to his patients.
